A Bit About Me
I spent 10 years working as a software developer after earning a degree in computer information systems. In 2025, I took a break from corporate to travel long-term.
Some of my travels were while working remotely as a freelancer. Other stretches were through pet sitting via TrustedHousesitters.com and my own site, Pinecone Pet Care. Most recently, I’ve been backpacking through East Asia — Japan, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Along the way, I create walking videos and practical city guides designed specifically for long-term travelevers and backpackers. You won’t find hyped up “Top 10 Must-See Tourist Attractions” here. Instead, I focus on:
- Which neighborhoods actually make sense to live in
- How to use public transportation
- What the cost of living really feels like
- A bit of history so you understand the place
- Local food worth trying
If you’re working remotely or thinking about it, I want you to land in a new city feeling prepared, not overwhelmed.
Outside of building software and traveling..I
- Am learning spanish (1.5 years in) and practice whenever I can
- I love hikes, guided tours, and long walking routes
- I’ve been pet sitting since 2015
- I try every popular local dish I can find (the spicier, the better)
